This is my handwoven lace scarf before it was dyed. To dye the fabric is put on a pole (PVC in this case) and tied all around and down the fabric then it is scrunched down on the pole. This is called Arashi shibori. Move your cursor over the picture to see the pole and pot!
This is the first scarf that I dyed using this technique. I used blue fiber reactive dyes. This will be great with blue jeans!
This is the second scarf I dyed. First it was dyed in yellow and it was blah, blah. So I dried it and pole wrapped it again and poured blue dye over only certain areas so the yellow would show through. You can see some blue spots here and there.
This scarf was dyed with Logwood extract a natural dye I had never used before. I love the way this one turned out. It isn't a wrinkled texture that is just the effects of the dye! I thought chemical dyes were supposed to be so rough, this natural dye was. It dyed my rubber gloves that I have used since 2006 and nothing else had stained them before!
This is my Elgance bracelet. The fastern is a beaded button. It would look great with that black dress for a night out on the town.
